Alien Abduction Video Incident at Lake County Revisited

Alien Abduction Video Incident at Lake County Revisited: "

Alien_10.jpg

In 1994 a purported early form of “found footage” was covered by documentary film makers and went on sale as the single most shocking and genuine piece of footage ever seen in regards to the UFO phenomenon. And to watch it is harrowing indeed. But was this “Incident at Lake County” genuine, or simply a hoax? And what can we learn of the mysterious origins of this footage? As it turns out, the Incident at Lake County everyone has likely seen today is not the original, but a remake."

Rob Zombie's The Lords of Salem Full Synopsis Revealed

Rob Zombie's The Lords of Salem Full Synopsis Revealed: "

The official detailed synopsis for Rob Zombie's next film, The Lords of Salem, debuted online today at the IM Global website, giving you the first bits of insight into the film's characters. Read on for all of the gory details.

Jason Blum, Steven Schneider, and Oren Peli of Haunted Pictures will be producing as well as Zombie regulars Andy Gould and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones as cameras roll this May, on location in Massachusetts.

Synopsis

Heidi, a blonde rock chick, DJs at a local radio station, and together with the two Hermans (Whitey and Munster) forms part of the 'Big H Radio Team'.

A mysterious wooden box containing a vinyl record arrives for Heidi, 'a gift from the Lords'. She assumes it's a rock band on a mission to spread their word. As Heidi and Whitey play the Lords' record, it starts to play backwards, and Heidi experiences a flashback to a past trauma.

Later Whitey plays the Lords' record, dubbing them the Lords of Salem, and to his surprise, the record plays normally and is a massive hit with listeners.

The arrival of another wooden box from the Lords presents the Big H Team with free tickets, posters and records to host a gig in Salem. Soon Heidi and her cohorts find that the gig is far from the rock spectacle they're expecting: the original Lords of Salem are returning, and they're out for BLOOD.

Never Before Seen 'Friday the 13th' Sequel Unearthed!!

It wasn't shocking when unreleased Michael Jackson music was discovered, it was kind of surprising when new footage from Halloween was uncovered (and still never shown to us), but this my friends has got to be the Holy Grail of unknown discoveries. It's life changing...

One of my good friends, Chaz, is an avid auctioneer. He owns all sorts actual props used in movies, from the clown in Poltergeist to a giant tooth from Steven Spielberg's mechanical Jaws; I enter his house with a smile, and typically leave in a jealous rage.

Anyways, he attended a police auction in San Antonio, Texas where a slew of movie canisters were seized in a drug raid downtown. Described simply as "vintage movie print", the labels carried tags for films none of us have ever heard of. Suffice to say, his purchase was for a shocking $10. Upon inspecting the strips from canister #1 with a magnifying glass, he noticed a little mongoloid boy in what looked like an '80s slasher. He immediately called me hoping to confirm the movie: "Probably Friday the 13th," I stated. But the scene he described was confusing, so I asked him to send me a few frames via e-mail.

Fellow horror fiends, what I saw literally (and I'm not exaggerating) made me fall off my chair. Read on for the big reveal!

TV: SyFy Adds Two More Horror Reality Shows

In a bid to further broaden its brand, Syfy is upping its commitment to the reality genre, reports THR. Fans of 'Ghost Hunters" should be excited for the following....

The network will announce at Tuesday's upfront presentation to advertisers in New York that it has picked up a trio of reality series -- "Haunted Collector," "Legend Quest" and "Paranormal Witness" -- to launch later this year. The series will join the nets growing cadre of unscripted hits, including the allegedly faked "Ghost Hunters," "Destination Truth" and "Face Off," which was recently renewed for a second season.

"Haunted Collector," a working title, centers on a family of renowned paranormal investigators who spend its time tracking down haunted items. The family then houses its collections -- think guns, jewelry, paintings and dolls -- in its museum. The series is from Gurney Prods.' Scott Gurney and Deirdre Gurney.

"Paranormal Witness," a drama-documentary series that will bring to life the stories of people who claim to have lived through paranormal experiences. Episodes will feature a mixture of first-hand testimony and gritty drama. Set to premiere in September.

'Paranormal Activity: Sanctuary' game app offers devilish fun

'Paranormal Activity: Sanctuary' game app offers devilish fun: "Don't you hate it when you're just trying to head home from the bodega when a hell zone opens up and demonic forces begin to attack, forcing you to whip out your iPhone and start casting spells? I know, right? Such a pain.

Well the folks from Paramount Pictures and game developers Ogmento hope to inject a little excitement into that tedium with the new video game app, Paranormal Activity: Sanctuary, which is loosely connected to the Paranormal Activity film franchise.

The game encourages gamers to face temptations from evil forces and either resist or succumb to possession. They will then either cast spells through gameplay to create safe zones on a map or choose to create 'hellholes' where evil reigns.

Sanctuary utilizes a choose-your-own-adventure open-world gameplay system, and while nifty, that's not what makes this app cool.

Instead, the game stands on its own because of the geo-location based, augmented-reality location. That is to say the game board is based on each player's neighborhood map using the iPhone's GPS. So the bodega you just shopped at may become an integral element in your personalized game. Additionally, using the phone's camera, players interact with creatures who appear to exist in your surrounding areas. Finally, the game utilizes Ogmento's own user-generated technology that allows gamers to draw symbols on paper, which are then 'read' and given life in the game.

Although Sanctuary carries the PA name, an understanding of the movies isn't necessary to enjoy the game. Instead, the incredibly fascinating app stands on its own regardless of the recognizable franchise.

There is a slight learning curve with getting used to the augmented reality and gameplay, but for a really fresh game concept and free downloadable app (with added features available for purchase), Paranormal Activity: Sanctuary is worth taking the information super highway to hell for.

The Dark Side Of The Cloud

The Dark Side Of The Cloud: "

Zurich-based photographer Micro Wilhelm discovered the dark side of the cloud today when he tried to log into his Flickr account and found that his account, and 5 years of his photos, no longer existed:

the dark side of cloud computing

He contacted Flickr about the issue, and their response added little to the “Oops!” message above:

Unfortunately, I have mixed up the accounts and accidentally deleted yours. I am terribly sorry for this grave error and hope that this mistake can be reconciled. Here is what I can do from here:

I can restore your account, although we will not be able to retrieve your photos. I know that there is a lot of history on your account-again, please accept my apology for my negligence. Once I restore your account, I will add four years of free Pro to make up for my error.

Please let me know if there’s anything else I can do.

Again, I am deeply sorry for this mistake.

With all types of new media, it’s tempting to rely on cloud-based services to store your audio, video, photos and blog posts. Most of the services are free and help you avoid the technical hassles of building your own site.

Wilhelm’s experience is a reminder that your cloud-based media is an “Oops!” away from getting nuked.
